Reasonable Doubt: This is the end. For real for real. I think.

I have something to say.  I thought that I could just stop writing a couple weeks ahead of schedule and no one would notice, but now that I've sat on my ass all day after waking up around 1 PM, I guess there are things left unsaid.  I like closure, so I'm gonna give myself some.  There isn't all that much to say, but here it goes.

Reasonable Doubt: The State of the Union

Washington, D.C. has seen better days.  I'm not talking about the education crisis, or the $44.3 million dollar tax scandal, either. No, I mean something much less important to most people, but something the only important thing to some people.

Sports.

People of D.C., our sports are in a pretty dark place right now.

Reasonable Doubt: What Would Hitler Do?

In college I took a some philosophy classes.  I'm not sure I learned anything worth knowing in any of them, but I did learn that for any philosophy class, you only needed to be able to ask and answer two questions to seem knowledgeable about philosophy without sounding like a prick*:

1.  "What would Ghandi do in this situation?"  (Or Jesus, if you somehow find yourself in a non-atheist philosophy class -- just kidding, those don't exist.)

2.  "What would Hitler do in the same situation?"

* = You will probably still sound like a prick.  Only pricks take philosophy.

Reasonable Doubt: Army

I got nothing this week, having only ever heard Brick and Bitches Ain't Shit by this dude, and I used a reference to one of those songs not that long ago.

I'm calling this post Army so I can quickly link to some cool war games.

Reasonable Doubt: Best National Anthem Ever?

The last time I included an chat with one of my friends as a post, I think it worked out really well.  It turns out that me and Matt are scraping the bottom of the barrel of human decency semi-regularly, so what ensues is another chat, with emails and other nonsense interspersed.  I swear to you, the only things I've changed from the original chat are for readability's sake (spelling, grammar, and the like), and for anonymity's sake.  Enjoy.

At 2:53, I sent an email to a thread with all of my college buddies.  It includes all of the people who get named in this chat.

Reasonable Doubt: You Have to Admit, They Look Really Cool

There are certain guilty pleasures that we all enjoy.  For some it's crappy music that makes white people dance like morons, and for others, it's something I like to call "train wreck television."  It's so bad that you can't look away.  I've seen an episode of The Hills.  Clearly a train wreck.  I would also count Maui Fever, Laguna Beach, Newport Harbor in this category.  (MTV, please, grow some shame!)  And for Christsake people, do not walk around bragging about loving these programs.  They're called guilty pleasures, not "I'm a waste of space and proud of it" pleasures.  I never counted any of those programs among my guilty pleasures, but there was one train wreck that I actually followed for a season (or should I say cycle)...

Men in Cages: Hit 'em Up

Note:  This is a special Internet Potato version of Men in Cages.  D.C. is taking over.  The theme being revisited is "Hits."  Respect, bitches.

Look, I know women don't like being called bitches, but I feel like I'm allowed to, because I'm a feminist now.  Totally.  And I'm a lesbian, because I like kissing girls.  I don't think this is just experimenting either.  I think I might actually prefer girls sexually, like, forever. 

I even left the title of the column as "Men in Cages" when it would have been SO EASY to change it to "Women in Cages" and I could have just posted a misogynistic rant about whogivesafuck and scored some cheap laughs.

Actually, considering that I'm somewhat pressed for time, I may just do that.  Maybe.

Reasonable Doubt: I Find Him Awesome by a Preponderance of the Evidence

On Monday, Lauren linked to the list of famous alcohol abstainers. Trying to squeeze blood from the stone, she did her thing over on the LMNOP (which looks very festive, I must say), and found the link of famous drinkers from wikipedia. 

(Sorry for all the mid-sentence links.  You all caught up?  Good.)

I browsed the drinkers, and noticed one glaring omission from the sports list, whom I then added:

Wade Boggs - American baseball player. It is rumored that Boggs once drank 64 beers on a cross-country flight.
