Emily's Trivia Quiz: Don't Forget this Fact, You Can't Get it Back

We know that a lot of famous people did/do drugs, like LiLo, The Beatles, Kurt Cobain...hey, the list goes on.  But there are some famous people (many of whom are now dead) who did lots of cocaine specifically (which I'm pretty sure is a stimulant, but my drug knowledge consists of what I learned in D.A.R.E. in 1995.  I'm cool like that.).  Interestingly enough, the laws on sentencing for crack cocaine convictions just changed retroactively this Tuesday.  Interested?  Read more in the New York Times or the Washington Post.  (The sentences for crack cocaine are now comparable with those for normal coke.) a. Stephen King was apparently a cocaine addict from 1979-1987.  He said "without coke I'd have gone on drinking until about the age of 55 and it would have been a couple of lines in the New York Times: 'Writer Stephen King dies of stroke.'"

b. Marion Barry.  In 2004 he was elected to a Ward 8 council seat in the by a margin of 96–4%.  Nicely done Ward 8 voters.  (I think this is the major argument to not give D.C. voting rights.)

This man is responsible for some of the funniest things ever, including Animal House, The Blues Brothers and the Cheeseburger Cheeseburger skit on Saturday Night Live.  The role of Dr. Venkman in Ghostbusters was written for him, but he died of a cocaine (among other things) overdose in 1982.

c. Tim Allen was arrested in 1978 with a pound and a half of cocaine.  He fingered 21 co-conspirators and got only five years in jail.
