One Nation Under Jerome: Now You Know My Opinion on Jelly Beans

Unfortunately I can't post today.  However, if I had to give you my top 10 "Greatest Hits" for Jelly Belly flavors, they would be, in order:

10) Dr. Pepper; 9) Watermelon; 8) Plum; 7) the light blue ones ; 6) Toasted Marshmellow; 5) Peach; 4) Blueberry; 3) Buttered Popcorn; 2) Raspberry ; 1) Juicy Pear.

Also, it should be noted that Buttered Popcorn is hands down the most polarizing flavor in the history of gelatin-related candy, followed not too distantly by Licorice, Root Beer, and Peanut Butter.

Oh man, I really like buttered popcorn (and the debate the flavor inspires).

I fucking HATE peanut butter, however. Is that one actually polarizing? Are there people who legitimately LIKE the peanut butter beans?! (Or, when you say "polarize," do you just mean that Jelly Belly consumers get PISSED at the Jelly Belly manufacturers when they're left with a few lame peanut butter beans in their variety pack box?)

Ooh, and I recently had what I believe was a pomegranite-flavored bean. And it was delicious. Up there with juicy pear.

Oh good point Tori, I didn't really think that through. Buttered Popcorn certainly is polarizing in the sense that you love it or you hate it, and often with great disgust toward those that disagree. But I guess no one loves peanut butter to equal the hate. Root beer and licorice have their fans--but really now that I think about it, it is Buttered Popcorn that stands alone as you-love-it-or-hate it. And Juicy Pear, actually, though apparently most people here are in the love-it camp--but a lot of people think Juicy Pear is disgusting.

I, for one, am a fan of the buttered popcorn- partially because they taste pretty good and partially because so many people dislike them and leave them in the bag/box, thereby leaving more jellybeans for me to eat. peach is, easily, the best. did you see that tv spot w/ jim from 'the office' advising not eat the black jelly beans? it's because they are licorice and disgusting.
