I may work in a bookstore, but I know nothing about stodgy, pretentious, hard to understand Nobel literature. I read children's books and the newspaper. Therefore, I am no expert on our Knut friendemy or his book, Growth of the Soil. (But I do heart the polar bear!) Plus, does soil even grow? Or is that the prize when you're done reading the book? You finally understand the growth process of soil (because I know we've all been dying to figure this out...)? Instead of quizzing you all on a book that only KELLYq's dad has read today's quiz will be on the very exciting topic of soil and all things dirty.
oh my goodness. there is nothing interesting on dirt OR soil.
1. The 2001 movie (I'm sorry, fine, fine film), Joe Dirt, David Spade stars as a __________ who is seeking his ________________.
a. Mathematician; lost thesis
b. Compost worker; poop
c. Janitor; parents
d. Custodial technician; broom
c. He is a janitor who is looking for his parents who left him at the Grand Canyon as a child. And you wondered why I didn't see this movie the night it came out.
2. Teens who listen to songs with dirty lyrics are...

Read the article here.
3. When I searched the term "dirty" on Google, the following sites came up on the first page:
a. The homepage to the "Society for Barefoot Living"
b. Wikipedia's definition of a Dirty Sanchez
c. This fine, fine website. (Don't worry, I'm pretty sure it's work appropriate, I'm also pretty sure I have no idea what the heck it is.)
I'm sure your shocked that all of those things were the elite when "dirty" was searched. Here's a link, just in case you doubt me.
4. The band Garbage had a hit with which song in 1996?
a. "One Headlight"
b. "I Love Trash"
c. "Stupid Girl"
d. "Smells Like Teen Spirit"
c. I know you're shocked it wasn't on my b-day playlist (because it totally qualifies), but Garbage's "Stupid Girl" was a hit in 1996. "I Love Trash" is a song by Oscar the Grouch. The other two were also hit songs in 1996. (Which, if you haven't already heard from me or Lauren, was a GREAT year for music.)
5. I just wanted to show you this website, but I had no creative way to make it a question. Everyone gets 100 points! (You didn't know you were playing for points this whole time, did you?)

Ok, we've covered dirt, dirtiness, garbage, white trash, bacteria and all things dirty. Sorry for the short post, but I'm going out of town for a wedding this weekend and still haven't packed. For me, that's kind of the end of the world. Have a great Memorial Day everyone!
In the meantime, check out Oscar in his original orange. And Gordon with AWESOME sideburns.
Emily's Trivia Quiz runs Fridays at 9:00 a.m.

As much as I love Knut, I am very happy to see that you didn't do a quiz about the baby polar bear.
