Now, I like breakfast just as much as every other food obsessed girl, from pancakes to McDonald's hash browns, from my mom's delicious crepes to Cinnabons, really, I have yet to meet a breakfast food that I will turn away. (Except for those people who eat steak for breakfast, that's just weird.) But if there's one thing I like more than overfeeding myself, it's overpriced jewelry packed in pretty little turquoise boxes that fit in matching little bags. Oooooh I just love Tiffany's! Now, throw a little Truman Capote in the mix, and then some Audrey Hepburn and we're really talking. And since the word "Breakfast" is in the title of one of the all-time best movies ever, starring one of my favorite actresses ever, I have an excuse to blog about it...

Here's the famous opening scene:
And a few extra bits of trivia I couldn't fit in questions:
- Tiffany's opened its doors on a Sunday for the first time since the 19th century so that filming could take place inside the store.
- Although you couldn't see it in the movie, there were hundreds of people watching Hepburn's window-shopping scene at the beginning of the movie, which made her really nervous and she kept making mistakes. It wasn't until a crew member nearly got electrocuted behind the camera that she pulled herself together and finished the scene.

Totally off topic...
I just read about your WWTBAM appearance. Allow me to be the billion-th person to note that you got totally jobbed. No one knows that much about Ferris Bueller.

Hmm, I never noticed that poster in your room before, maybe you didn't place it prominently enough or something.

I really love Audrey Hepburn, but have never seen Breakfast at Tiffany's. The one time I tried to watch the movie I had to stop watching when Mickey Rooney came out in yellow-face. That shit was ridiculous.

Yes, Mickey Rooney almost ruins the movie unfortunately.

Of course, there is one big difference between the book and the movie:
MARIE (describing Holly Go-Lightly in "Breakfast At Tiffany's"): She didn't want the constraints of any relationship, that's why she got rid of the cat. The most important thing in Holly's life was her independence.
GEORGE: Well, not really. After all, she did get together with George Peppard. I mean, Fred.
MARIE: George...Fred's gay.
